Hampton Manor Wedding Videographer

Hampton Manor really has it all, not only is it a stunning wedding venue but it also has an amazing Michelin-starred restaurant on site. Emma and Jordan really made the most of this exclusive use venue, the beautiful cottage on site was where Emma and her bridesmaids got ready which then meant just a short walk down to The Birches ceremony room followed by a huge party in The Courtyard which is quite possibly my favourite wedding reception room in the whole country. Before the big day I mentioned how much I loved it when couples have personal vows during the ceremony as it injects so much more personality into the occasion, I must have been pretty convincing as it inspired Emma and Jordan to write their own vows and my word they were just perfect!

Roo… wow. We will never be able to thank you enough for these films. I can’t really put into words how special it was to watch that. I’ve just had the opportunity to relive and experience the day and let out all my emotions that I felt maybe I couldn’t on the day – I will forever be grateful for that.

You are a really special talented person and I’m super grateful that I stumbled on your Instagram. You’ve captured our story and our closest loved ones perfectly.

Emma & Jordan’s Wedding Dream Team:

Bride and Groom Q&A:

How did you guys meet?

Two looks across a bar, one instant connection. The rest is history!

Tell me about yourselves, how do you like to spend your time?

We’re golden retriever meets black cat energy. Jordan has the loudest laugh you’ve ever heard, is the life and soul of the party and loves nothing more than heading to an art gallery. Emma is happiest hanging out with a smaller crowd, obsessed with candles, coffee and would rather go to a museum. For all of our opposites though, we have a set of core values that we deeply connect with – empathy, accountability, communication and humour. Jordan is an Operations Manager (he says it’s too boring to explain) and Emma is a Veterinary Physiotherapist – she specialises in helping dogs and cats learn to walk again after surgery. We are found mostly curled up on the sofa with our two cats Rocket and Ringo and a bottle of red.

How did the proposal go down?

As the sun set on the banks of Loch Lomond, in Emma’s favourite spot – who knew Jordan could be that romantic?

How did you choose Hampton Manor as your wedding venue?

We got engaged during COVID so visiting venues was out of the question. We scoured every single wedding venue website and stumbled across Hampton Manor. We knew we wanted to get married locally so we could revisit the venue and we wanted our guests to stay the night. Everything about Hampton Manor excited us – the food, the vibe and the stunning architecture. Lockdown ended and we went to visit in person, we were sold as soon as we came down the drive.

What sort of experience did you want your guests to have?

Organic, relaxed, informal, authentic, intimate, emotional

Why did you choose to have a wedding film?

We came across Roo’s website when we were wedding planning. We hadn’t originally budgeted for a videographer, but that all changed after watching a few featured stories. We started following Roo on Instagram, he posted ‘if you could view your grandparents’ wedding photos or video, which would you choose?’. We both answered video so that was that.

What was your best decision during planning?

As part of our wedding planning experience, we were invited to stay at Hampton Manor for two nights. In between lazing around drinking cocktails and eating the most incredible food, we had meet and greets with the lovely wedding team. The chef, the sommelier, the baker, we even got to make our own personalised cocktail.

We were hosted by a special lady called Tanya, she was working at Hampton Manor and was also a florist. We just clicked and within a couple of hours we were getting her availability for our wedding date. Tanya describes her floral style as delicately wild, whimsical and romantic. She is inspired by nature and the seasons and tries to source her flowers from British growers where possible.

She knew the venue inside out, she had seen what worked well and what didn’t look so good. She seemed to immediately gage who we were as a couple, what our vision was and we felt like we’d known her our whole lives – she had us in stitches most of the time too. It really is a special feeling walking into your venue on your wedding day, seeing everything you’ve dreamed of become a reality. Tanya’s attention to detail and creativity completely exceeded our expectations and we were blown away by how beautiful the flowers were. Picking her as our florist was the best decision we made.

What was your hardest decision during planning?

The ugly side of wedding planning and the source of many an argument – compromising on details due to budget.

What are your favourite memories from the day?

The special feeling of togetherness in the ceremony as we said our personal vows. The impromptu singing to Hey Jude during the meal – why is there always napkin spinning at weddings?! Heading away from the hustle and bustle with just us, Roo and Colin the photographer. We’d just finished up our espresso martinis, the sun was setting, it was tranquil and peaceful. We had half an hour where we felt completely and utterly present, in our little bubble.

What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding?

Suppliers Pick suppliers that align to who you are as a couple – your values, your communication style, your vision. Surrounding yourself with a team of like-minded individuals who can transform your vision into reality felt very important to us. Don’t be afraid to ask to meet them in person before deciding to go ahead with a booking! Difficult decisions Check in with yourself regularly during the planning process – are we making decisions for us? Whether it’s the pressure of social media, opinions from family and friends or your unachievably-perfect Pinterest board, external influences can be overwhelming sometimes. If you feel conflicted about a decision – sit back, take a breath and sleep on it. Remember – it’s your day. Type of venue Invest some time into thinking about how much planning you’d like to take on yourselves. The dream day for you might be organised by a wedding planner or completely DIY. It has to be right for you. Planning can be stressful, throw in a 9-5, maintaining a social life and keeping healthy, it can be a lot to fit around your existing commitments.
